Blue Kid & Steph Release New EP!

8 05 2010

After a command performance at the Duplex in NYC last weekend you too can buy Blue Kid‘s new EP, Stand – featuring special guest Steph Sherline.  It’s a cool combo of folk, blues, pop and jazz with a dash of sass – likened on the interwebs to Tracy Chapman, Indigo Girls, Fiona Apple and Tori Amos.

Those are some talented ladies.  As are Blue Kid and Steph.  Buy the album here.  Now.

Princeton Gears Up For SXSW

16 03 2010

If you’re one of the lucky thousands of people heading to Austin right now for the annual SXSW festival, roadtripping your way towards five days of film, music, parties, and Stetson hats, I have 2 things to say to you:

1) I’m amazingly jealous. I don’t even want to hear about how fun it is. Especially from you, roommate.

2) YOU HAVE FIVE CHANCES TO CATCH PRINCETON getting in on the action. Check them out:

Wed March 17 @ 2:30pm – Scoot Inn – SSW Fan In The Fire Mag Party

Wed March 17 @ 8:00pm – Wave Rooftop – SXSW Kanine Showcase

Thurs March 18 @ 12:30am – Creekside Lounge

Fri March 19 @ 12:00am – Club Deville – SXSW Brooklyn Vegan Party

Sat March 20 @ 4:00pm – Cafe Munid – SXSW Kevchino Party

Listen to their track, “Eminent Victorians” used in Moonshine Inc.

And if you have some extra time to kill after seeing all five shows, try to see Kick Ass or any of the 7 bands repped by Nacional Records.  No, neither the movie or any of the bands are associated with Moonshine Inc. – they’re just good.

Attention LA & NYC: Double Awesome Show Night!

12 03 2010

Attention music lovers in New York AND Los Angeles!  Stuck on what to do tonight?  Never fear – Moonshine Inc. is here!  Here to bring to your attention not one – but TWO great bands with shows this evening.

If you’re in the Big Apple definitely check out Rifle Recoil – 8pm at The Alphabet Lounge

Take a listen to “Lonely Sailor” one of TWO Rifle Recoil songs used in Moonshine Inc.

If you’re in Los Angeles head up to Dig In in Highland Park to see The World Record at 9:30pm (followed by Radar Bros at 10:30pm)

And the music video of “We’re #1” by The World Record, also used in the film with a couple other songs by the band.  Heard it before?  Then you must be a Gossip Girl fan – they used it in an episode early this season!

Fun for everyone, everywhere!

Raymond Richards featured on Aquarium Drunkard!

1 03 2010

Not only is Raymond Richards a member of the band The Idaho Falls – who just had their record release party at Spaceland not too long ago – but he wrote an original song just for Moonshine Inc.  In like, a week.

And for those of you who live in the awesome Rancho Park area (Landmark Wine Bar anyone?) he gives you some great tips and suggestions of things to do and places to check out – I had no idea it was such a musically rich neighborhood!  Definitely check it out.

Off The Record:: The Idaho Falls, Los Angeles (Rancho Park)

And listen to the song “California Day” by The Idaho Falls – used in Moonshine Inc.!

And buy the album, The Spark out on iTunes now!

Diamonds Under Fire Rocks the Silverlake Lounge TONIGHT!

25 02 2010

After a tour and quite a bit of radio love – an amazing act who participated in 826LA Battle of the Bands 2009 – Diamonds Under Fire will be at the Silverlake Lounge on Feb 25 with Cheese on Bread (the band not the hors d’oeuvres).

Check out her live performance of the song “Binge Thinking” – used in Moonshine Inc!

Princeton @ Spaceland

22 02 2010

In case you were wondering how the opening of Moonshine Inc. SOUNDED it’s just like this!

Doesn’t look like that though, just to be clear. “The Waves” by Princeton.

All this month the band Princeton has had a residency on Monday nights at Spaceland and tonight is the LAST NIGHT. Set time is 11pm, but get there early and be prepared to stand in line. This Silverlake resident recommends a tasty pre-show meal next door at Leela Thai. Yum. Whatever you decide just GO. GO. GO.
